Theme of the Month: September 2012, Fall Grasses at Bunker Hill

Another beautiful fall day and I did yet another bike ride around the rolling hills of Bunker Hills Regional Park in the north metro area of the Twin Cities.   This park is part of a large sandy area in counties north of the Twin Cities.  You get a different eco-system than other areas around the “Twin Cities.  Less broad leaf woods and more scrubby grassland with hardy trees and pines.  Still a few days before official Fall begins, the grasses were turning a crisp gold  and seed heads had turned white with plumes to take the seeds far and wide.  September 16, 2012
