Theme of the Month: September, Wildlife in the Burbs

A shaded path, Staring Lake park Ballers and shimmering fence, Staring Park blurred birdies, ergets and reeds Cattail reed in duckweed soup Erget in flight, A pack of pelicans, Eden Prairie Ergets gathering along the shore, Eden Prairie 002 Soft landings, Pelicans on Eden Prairie Lake Extreme bean, Flame tree seed pods, Eden Prairie Flame tree seed pods, Eden Prairie Incoming Pelicans Petunia powerful color The mighty oak of Staring Lake Park The Pelican PackTaking  another bike trip I went to Eden Prairie, kinda like Eden on the prairie disguised as a upper middle class suburb with a high school football team that wins every other state title.  And yet part of Eden Prairie lives up to its name with some nice parks and nice surprise of pelicans by the score migrating through on a rather small lake encircled by a bike path.  It was neat to see this group troll the waters in a pack looking for a early dinner.  Also a nice collection of egrets were to be seen in and around the pelicans.   Photos are from Purgatory Creek Park and Staring Park, September 3, 2012
